Jacob Jensen

is the story of Danish design that, for 60 years, continued to push the boundaries of what constitutes good design—from Bang & Olufsen’s groundbreaking stereo systems of the 1960s to products in 2026 that continue to set new standards in their respective categories. Jacob Jensen inspired designers all over the world to dare to be different. His legacy lives on in everything we do.
Worldwide products

Thousands of products worldwide—whether under the Jacob Jensen brand itself or with partners such as Steinway & Sons, Toshiba, Nordlux, Gaggenau, Volvo, and Vestas—share a common DNA: they are simple, innovative, thoughtfully conceived, and functional. This ensures that users hold onto the product long after the next generation has hit the market.

A watch is no exception:

It is the one object we return to, day after day, to be told the same simple truth: what time it is.
In 1985, Jacob Jensen created his first watch that the Museum of Modern Art in New York welcomed into its permanent Design Study Collection—one of twenty Jacob Jensen Design objects to earn that place.
Design principles

Distance

refers to how the product is perceived when viewed from afar; your attention is sharpened, and you instantly recognise that this is something special.

Closeness

encompasses the form, materials, and concept that invite you to interact with the product.

Touch

is the element of surprise when a function activates as your hand approaches, or the sensation that the product is so perfectly designed that nothing can be removed and nothing can be added.

Heritage

Jacob Jensen products are different but not strange — as Jacob Jensen himself put it. They are surprising at first glance, yet so thoughtfully designed that users are delighted, year after year, to find that the product simply works.
